Dog Vaccine Packages

Adult Dog Vaccines in Dalton, GA

If you’re looking for a place to have your adult dog vaccinated in Dalton, GA, Zutilla Pet Clinic is here to help.

We offer core vaccines, including DAPP and rabies, as well as lifestyle vaccines such as Bordetella (kennel cough) and leptospirosis. Whether your dog needs just the basics or more comprehensive protection based on their lifestyle, we can tailor a plan to fit your needs.

As a veterinary clinic fully invested in keeping pets healthy, we strongly recommend an annual wellness exam. However, we also understand the realities of today’s economy. If you are only able to afford vaccines at this time, we will not deny your dog care for that reason.

Heartworm & Flea Prevention

If your pet needs a prescription flea/tick or heartworm prevention product, they must have an exam. Please see our exam options below:

Full Exam – $63

This is our recommended option. Your dog will receive a complete nose-to-tail examination by Dr. Gregory, along with a discussion of findings and personalized recommendations. You’ll also have time to ask any questions.

Prescription Product Exam – $32

This exam meets the minimum requirement for prescribing heartworm and/or flea prevention. Your dog will be weighed, and Dr. Gregory will perform a brief check of the heart and lungs.

You’re welcome to choose the option that best fits your goals and your budget.

Spay & Neuter in Dalton, GA

A Safe, Responsible Approach to Surgical Care for Your Pet

NOTE: Our Policy on Spaying Female Dogs

At this time, Zutilla Pet Clinic does not perform spay surgery for female dogs.

If you have a female dog that needs to be spayed, Dr. Gregory can discuss options and provide guidance during your pet’s exam visit.

At Zutilla Pet Clinic, we believe surgical procedures should always begin with careful evaluation and thoughtful planning. Spay and neuter procedures can provide important health and behavioral benefits for pets, but every animal is unique.

That’s why our process begins with a brief veterinary exam before any surgical procedure is scheduled. This allows Dr. Star Gregory to evaluate your pet’s health, answer your questions, and determine the safest path forward.

Important Information About Our Spay & Neuter Services

Our clinic currently offers the following surgical services:

Male Dog Neutering

Neutering male dogs can help reduce unwanted behaviors, decrease roaming tendencies, and lower the risk of certain health conditions.

Cat Spay and Neuter Services

Spaying and neutering cats helps prevent unwanted litters and supports long-term health and behavior.

Female Dog Spay Policy

At this time, Zutilla Pet Clinic does not perform spay surgery for female dogs.

If you have a female dog that needs to be spayed, we are happy to discuss options and provide guidance during your pet’s exam visit.

Our goal is always to ensure that every pet receives care that is appropriate, safe, and in their best interest.

Why We Require an Exam Before Surgery

Before scheduling any surgical procedure, we require a short veterinary exam appointment.

This step helps us:

  • Confirm your pet is healthy enough for surgery
  • Review your pet’s medical history
  • Discuss the procedure and recovery expectations
  • Answer any questions you may have
  • Provide accurate pricing and scheduling details

This approach helps ensure that your pet receives safe, personalized care rather than a one-size-fits-all procedure.

What to Expect During the Pre-Surgery Exam

During your visit, Dr. Gregory will:

  • Perform a physical exam
  • Discuss whether surgery is appropriate for your pet
  • Explain the procedure and recovery process
  • Provide an estimate for the surgery
  • Schedule the procedure if appropriate

Most exam visits take about 20–30 minutes and allow us to make sure your pet receives the safest care possible.

Spay & Neuter for Dogs & Cats – FAQs

Will my pet gain weight after surgery?

Weight gain is related to diet and activity, not the surgery itself. We can guide you on proper nutrition.

How long does recovery take?

Most pets return to normal activity within 10–14 days with restricted exercise during healing.

Is bloodwork really necessary before surgery?

While not always required, pre-operative bloodwork increases anesthesia safety by identifying hidden concerns.

Will my pet be in pain?

Pain management is part of our surgical protocol. Most pets recover comfortably.

Can older pets be spayed or neutered?

In many cases, yes. We’ll evaluate overall health before recommending surgery.

Do indoor pets need to be spayed or neutered?

Yes. Even indoor pets benefit from reduced cancer risk and other health advantages.

Do I need an exam before surgery?

Yes. All surgical procedures begin with a veterinary exam to make sure your pet is healthy and ready for surgery.

Do you spay female dogs?

At this time, Zutilla Pet Clinic does not perform spay surgery for female dogs.
